M Hotel & Casino

Sunday, March 29th, 2009

Yesterday me, Malene, Nikolaj and Joshia went to check out the new off-strip hotel (actually it is at the very south end of the strip) called M.

M is built by the Marnells, who used to own the RIO before Harrahs took over, and believe it or not, when the Marnelss owned the Rio, it used to be the hotspot in Las Vegas. Now they own their own casino again, and they know what they are doing. It is GREAT!

The M has a great atmosphere, good crowd, really nice staff, indoor natural lighting (as the first casino in las vegas ever), really upbeat and cool design, and so many other things that take too long to mention in this blog.

The pokerrom had some of the most juicy games, and on top of that, the pokerroom is up to date with lots of TV’s, nice chairs and tables with lots of room.

But! check out the short video I shot down there and check out the M next time you are in Vegas.

Dream Team Poker highlights

Saturday, March 28th, 2009

So, it unfortunately did not go my way, I started out really good, and doubled up early on with a set of 8’s cracking pocket queens. To my disappointment, I could not keep the momentum after that hand, so I eventually busted out holding against .

Nikolaj busted out very early with a classic setup,  vs. .

Lars Bonding is, as far as I know, still in it. Go Lars!

I have compiled a little video, enjoy.

The plan is simple…

Saturday, March 28th, 2009

Today at noon, 450 people are meeting for the first public Dream Team Poker event, held at Caesars Palace here in Las Vegas.

Yesterday I went, together with my teammates in “The Great Danes of Pain” Lars Bonding and Nikolaj Simonsen, to the jersey and seating reception, and I must say that I was amazed by the attention the organizers managed to get to this fairly small buy in tournament ($550 pr. player). The field includes several former world champs, a herd of top name pros, as well as a lot of other well known faces.

There is one guy, that I have plans for though. His name is Phil Hellmuth, and as the title states, the plan is simple… Bad beat his ass, get him to yell at me, and then do whatever it takes to get him penalized. First of all, I have to be seated next to him, then I have to find a bad hand to play against him with, then I actually have to out flop him, then I have to get the 11 bracelet winner to donate lots of chips to me, then get him steaming. Simple right?? :-)

I will be shooting some video and taking some pictures later, and will post them on here as soon as possible.

Ohh…The other part of the plan is of course winning the whole thing :-)

Good idea, belated happy birthday, good luck, and a forewarning of the upcoming TRUTH!

Friday, March 27th, 2009

Hello webmaster Kim (AKA “The Surgeon”,) Nikolaj (AKA ” B’DayBoy,) Lars (AKA “Dsavo”.)
These three are forming “The Dream Team”, tournament starting tomorrow at Caesar’s Palace – GL!  (I’ll take 1/2%!)

Look out for a test run of articles about the TRUE nature of the game we love -and love to hate. Stories from the tables, stories from behind the scenes, my comments about both, and possibly random comments on unrelated events from real life!
I have 30 years of experience and observations, and a desire to finally add MY 2 cents, and spill the beans about the poker world today!
I will present myself in details soon!

Until then… Don’t get fooled!

Tom – (AKA “The Happiest Poker Player Alive!”) Yeah, right!

How I answer questions from now on…

Thursday, March 26th, 2009

I know this is old news, but I wanted to put this up anyways, as December 17, 2008 was a historic day, with the biggest (and only real) snowfall in Las Vegas in decades.

Dream Team Poker & a new dog

Thursday, March 26th, 2009

Nikolaj, Lars and myself are heading down to Caesars Palace on saturday to play the Dream Team Poker tournament. The format is simple: Become the best overall team, to win a lot of money. I just hope I get position on Phil Helmuth, and can put a massive bad beat on him early on :-)

It looks like it is going to be lots of fun, as most of the field are celebrities and famous poker pros. So wish us luck.

On another note, my new dog Buddy is lots of fun, but being only 10 weeks old, he is already bigger than the other 2 dogs. I will post some pictures and video in the next blogs.

Have a great day!
