14 days without poker

Friday, March 5th, 2010

So I have put myself on a poker break after running bad for a couple of months. 14 days have passed and I actually feel really good about it. It’s a lot easier to reflect on it when not playing. The rules for my break are easy. I can start playing again no earlier than April 1st. But I have to drop 15 pounds of weight first, otherwise the break continues until that goal has been reached too.

Status after 12 days. Dropped 5 pounds and 0 hands of poker played.

Heading to The Bellagio

Monday, July 27th, 2009

I haven’t played live cash games in a very long time. I have not really been motivated to do so, and honestly have not been playing my A-game the last few times i was playing live cash. Why? Well, I think it all boils down to me being over confident sitting down at the table, thinking I need to push everybody around, playing way to many hands, paying off way to many bets thinking that they never have it…THEY ALWAYS HAVE IT!!

Well, my strategy today is playing basic good aggresive tight poker, and hopefully do as I always do, get people to pay me on every street, simply because they think I don’t have it..TODAY I AM GOING TO HAVE IT EVERY TIME!!

Hopefully my next post will be about how well I did, but we’ll see. I’ll keep you posted no matter what.

Drunken poker at the Venetian

Thursday, June 4th, 2009

Last year during the WSOP I arranged a drunken poker game at the Venetian Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas for all danish poker players.

It was a lot of fun, people got drunk, played loose, and reloaded A LOT!

A total of 3 tables were set up, all playing mixed $1/$2 NLHE & $1/$2 PLO.

Currently people are signing up through 1623 Poker or PokerNet

I’m hoping that we get even more players this year, and hopefully a lot of bad beats, slow rolls, suck outs, setups etc. etc.

If you are game, in Las Vegas the 1st of July and Danish, then show up at The Venetian poker room at 9.00 PM

Dream Team Poker highlights

Saturday, March 28th, 2009

So, it unfortunately did not go my way, I started out really good, and doubled up early on with a set of 8’s cracking pocket queens. To my disappointment, I could not keep the momentum after that hand, so I eventually busted out holding against .

Nikolaj busted out very early with a classic setup,  vs. .

Lars Bonding is, as far as I know, still in it. Go Lars!

I have compiled a little video, enjoy.

The plan is simple…

Saturday, March 28th, 2009

Today at noon, 450 people are meeting for the first public Dream Team Poker event, held at Caesars Palace here in Las Vegas.

Yesterday I went, together with my teammates in “The Great Danes of Pain” Lars Bonding and Nikolaj Simonsen, to the jersey and seating reception, and I must say that I was amazed by the attention the organizers managed to get to this fairly small buy in tournament ($550 pr. player). The field includes several former world champs, a herd of top name pros, as well as a lot of other well known faces.

There is one guy, that I have plans for though. His name is Phil Hellmuth, and as the title states, the plan is simple… Bad beat his ass, get him to yell at me, and then do whatever it takes to get him penalized. First of all, I have to be seated next to him, then I have to find a bad hand to play against him with, then I actually have to out flop him, then I have to get the 11 bracelet winner to donate lots of chips to me, then get him steaming. Simple right?? :-)

I will be shooting some video and taking some pictures later, and will post them on here as soon as possible.

Ohh…The other part of the plan is of course winning the whole thing :-)

Dream Team Poker & a new dog

Thursday, March 26th, 2009

Nikolaj, Lars and myself are heading down to Caesars Palace on saturday to play the Dream Team Poker tournament. The format is simple: Become the best overall team, to win a lot of money. I just hope I get position on Phil Helmuth, and can put a massive bad beat on him early on :-)

It looks like it is going to be lots of fun, as most of the field are celebrities and famous poker pros. So wish us luck.

On another note, my new dog Buddy is lots of fun, but being only 10 weeks old, he is already bigger than the other 2 dogs. I will post some pictures and video in the next blogs.

Have a great day!
